Activity Description

The first of its kind, the Marathon Excavation Tour offers a unique opportunity to experience an archaeological excavation first-hand. Based in Athens, you’ll visit the site of this brand new excavation project and learn the basics of excavating ancient sites, alongside archaeologists from the University of Athens. But beyond that, this tour has been designed as a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. The itinerary will also allow you to discover Marathon’s major archaeology sites and indulge in fish delicacies at Marathon’s beach with mesmerising views of the Aegean Sea.
