Activity Description

Join the most complete village hopping experience through authentic locations at the foothills of the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) in Chania region. A unique private tour with wonderful scenery as well as a real insight into traditional Cretan life.

Starting from Chania and accompanied by your expert local host, you will visit an authentic Cretan village that has been declared a protected national monument because of the many Venetian buildings that have been found there.

You will then visit the monastery of Agios Georgios in Karydi village with scenic views to the White mountains.

Your next stop will take you back in time, at a village with traditional architecture where you will have coffee in the local coffee shop, also known as ‘’kafenion’’ and will have time to visit the village’s trademark, an old olive oil factory.

Going through olive groves, vineyards, shepherd huts and wonderful panoramic views, you will end up in a traditional taverna which is considered the centre of gastronomy and slow food - there you will have plenty of time to enjoy a traditional Cretan lunch, a variety of traditional Cretan recipes cooked in firewood, local wine and beer.

On your way back, your guide will drive you through the historical Therissos gorge to grasp the most of wild Crete before you head back to Chania town.
