Drive to Delphi.

Take an archaeologist-led tour of the Archaeological Area of Delphi. The tour begins in the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, a well-preserved sacred site dedicated to the worship of the goddess Athena and continues along the Sacred Way, past the remnants of ornate buildings and monuments built as offerings by aristocratic families of the time. The next stop is the Temple of Apollo, the site where, according to legend, the Oracle of Delphi would deliver her prophecies in a state of delirium. From there, the tour goes on to the magnificent Theater and Stadium of Delphi, which long served as center-points of ancient Delphic life and culture.

Visit to the Archaeological Museum of Delphi accompanied by a field expert / archaeologist, with a private tour of its impressive collection. One of the most important archaeological institutions in Greece, the Museum of Delphi aims to explain the history of the Delphic sanctuary and its broader impact in shaping politics, religion, and philosophy over the centuries. The two-story museum boasts a stunning collection of original artifacts, sculptures, and statues recovered from the nearby site, which span from the 15th century BCE to late antiquity. The museum also hosts conservation laboratories for pottery, metal objects, and mosaics, as well as an all-new lobby, cafeteria, and gift shop.

Free time for lunch at the picturesque village of Arachova

(April – October) Visit to the Monastery of Hosios Loukas. Situated amid breathtaking nature on the slopes of Mount Helicon, the Monastery of Hosios Loukas was founded in the early 10th century CE by the hermit Loukas Stereiotis. It is one of the finest monuments of Middle Byzantine architecture and art and is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site.

17:00 – 19:30

Drive back to Athens.
