Activity Description

Your day starts with a visit at the medieval village of Emborio on the southern part of Santorini. You will walk around into its "kastelli" (fortress) and savour Greek coffee at a traditional coffee shop.
You will then visit the southest edge of Santorini, Faros (the lighthouse), and will take in the spectacular view of the caldera. You will have plenty of time to capture interesting photos of the caldera at spots with breathtaking views and geologic interest while you will learn from your expert guide about the volcanic activity and the dramatic history of the island.
During this guided tour you will visit an awarded winery and a family owned farm. You will try all the major types of wines that are produced in Satorini paired with Cycladic artisanal cheese and a variety of sweet and savoury local delicacies. You will also spend time in an old, phylloxera-free vineyard and will learn about the ancient vine training method and the uniqueness of Santorini's terroir.
