A hands-on interactive cooking class ideal for those who want to learn local cooking techniques, tips and discover the secrets of Crete's cuisine, one of the best in the 'Greek food hall of fame'!

Activity Description

This interactive cooking class is a unique journey of flavors through authentic recipes made with fresh local ingredients. You will learn alongside an expert chef and will be able to gain a new skill set to confidently prepare authentic Cretan dishes in your own kitchen. Be prepared to have plenty of laughs, fun, delicious food and local wine. 

Your gastronomic experience starts in the morning (around 11am), accompanied with drinks and discussions about the cooking activities. Shortly after the actual cooking will begin for approximately 2 hours. Lunch is served until 14:20, followed by a relaxing and educational olive oil tour in this exceptional olive farm. You get to learn the entire olive oil 'journey' – from the olive tree to the production in the olive mill and finally bottling. There will also be discussions on how to use this precious ingredient and tips on proper storage of a extra virgin olive oil. Last but not least, you will get the chance to sample a variety of olive oil categories. 

The menu of this cooking class varies daily, as follows: 
MONDAY: Cretan Salad, Dakos (Barley rusk topped with fresh tomato, myzithra cheese, oregano, and cooked over extra virgin olive oil), Graviera saganaki with sesame seeds (fried local gruyere cheese fried in olive oil), Tsigariasto with fried potatoes (stewed meat in olive oil & white wine), Kalitsounia with Honey (Cretan cheese pies fried in olive oil from the olive mill).

TUESDAY
Cretan salad, Dakos (Barley rusk topped with fresh tomato, myzithra cheese, oregano, and cooked over extra virgin olive oil), Graviera saganaki with sesame seeds (fried local gruyere cheese fried in olive oil), Tigania with fried potatoes (pork sautéd in olive oil from the olive mill & white wine), Halva with raisins and walnuts (Greek semolina dessert)

Class starts at 11:20 till 13:20. Lunch served at 14:20pm.

Excluded: Transfers and anything else not mentioned explicitly as included.

Note: All meals can be adjusted for allergies and special dietary requirements. This tour can run only with a minimum of 6 participants. Bookings are accepted meantime and all participants will be notified of a cancellation max. 24 hours before the event and will have the option to reschedule for another event or receive a full refund. 

Young travellers: Kids aged 12-16 y.o. €45 per person. Kids under the age of 12 can request a meal with an additional cost of €15. For health and safety reasons participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Cancellation Policy

Vendor reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an event for any reason, upon a 48 hour notification to guests who are entitled to either reschedule for another event or receive a full refund. If guests need to cancel their booking 48 hour or more prior to the event, guests have the option to reschedule for another event (within 3 months after the cancellation date) or receive a full refund. In the event of cancellation after in 47 hours or less before the cooking class, no refund and no option to reschedule to an alternative event. If participant is unable to attend a booked event they can transfer their place to another person upon written advice to the vendor with the name of the new attendee.
