Gift Cards FAQ, Terms and Conditions

Gift Card limitations
Gift Cards are sold as unique digital codes. We do not create or ship physical Gift Cards. They are only available as an email or printable file.
At checkout, a Gift Card’s value will be subtracted from the order total.
Gift Cards are non-refundable, neither fully nor partially, cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be returned.
Gift Cards are non-transferable and resale is prohibited.
We hold no liability for lost Gift Cards nor for any unauthorised use of Gift Cards. theTravelPorter reserves the right to refuse to issue or honor a Gift Card, in the event of suspected fraud.
How to send and receive a Gift Card?
In the Gift Card Delivery box on the checkout page, you can select 'Email to Recipient' or 'Email to You'.
Email to Recipient
If you want to email the Gift Card to the recipient, you need to enter this information:
Recipient name
Recipient email (required)
Message (80 character limit)
Sender name
Email to You
If you want to email the Gift Card to yourself as a printable file, you’ll need to enter this information to include in the file:
Recipient name
Message (80 character limit)
Sender name
Once you receive it you can send it via email to the lucky recipient! :)
How to redeem a Gift Card?
You can redeem a Gift Card by booking activities from our hand-picked collection or from virtual experiences. All you need to do is enter the Gift Card code at checkout. Gift Cards apply to the order total.
If the order total exceeds the Gift Card value, you must pay the remaining amount via credit card or another Gift Card.
If the order total is less than the Gift Card value, there’s no need to stress. You can complete checkout without another payment method (so hide your credit card!). The amount applied and remaining value displays in the grey box and in the order receipt.
Do Gift Cards expire?
theTravelPorter Gift Cards never expire. However, if a customized Gift Card is created which is intended for a specific Activity from our Listings, you are reminded that the Gift Card can be used against the value of the Activity at the time of booking (not the value of the Activity at the time of Purchase of the Gift Card) and as long as the Activity remains on the Site’s Listings. In the event that the value of the Activity has changed since the issuance of the Gift Card, you need to pay for the remaining balance at checkout. If the Activity is not on our Listings by the time of booking, you can redeem your Gift Card by selecting an alternative Activity.
Can I split a booking between a Gift Card and a credit card?
Yes. But only if the booking total exceeds the value remaining on your Gift Card. In this case, you can pay the remaining balance using a credit card.
Can I use less than the full value of my Gift Card?
When using a Gift Card, the full value of the Gift Card is always applied at Checkout. This means that it is not possible to partially redeem a Gift Card unless the order total is less than the Gift Card balance.
Are Gift Cards refundable?
No. Unused or partially used Gift Cards can not be refunded and cannot be redeemed for cash nor be returned. theTravelPorter holds no liability for lost Gift Cards or for any unauthorized use of your Gift Card.
Can I cancel bookings made with a Gift Card?
Yes as long as this cancellation meets the Vendor's refund policy and is in line with the Cancellation Policy listed on the Activity Page of the booked experience. Once your booking is cancelled, the amount is credited back to your Gift Card which means that you can redeem the value through a new booking.
Can I buy multiple Gift Cards in one order?
No, sorry! When selecting a Gift Card, you will go directly to Checkout after clicking the Purchase button. To purchase an additional Gift Card you need to re-visit the Gift Card page once you have completed your previous Checkout payment. So, one Gift Card at a time…
Can I purchase a Gift Card AND book an activity in one checkout?
No, sorry. Your cart will only include the Gift Card at Checkout. You can come back on our platform to complete the new booking though - it's always nice to have you back!
I want to set a different value on a Gift Card I purchase, can I do that?
Normally no, but you can always ask ;)
How do I check the balance of my Gift Card?
Have you received a Gift Card email? Congratulations, you have special souls that care for you! The value of your Gift Card and your Gift Card code is shown on this email. If you have used your Gift Card in a previous booking, by entering the Gift Card code at Checkout you will immediately see any remaining balance.
What if I lose my Gift Card code?
Oh, no! So, please (please!) treat this Gift Card as cash as we hold no liability for lost Gift Cards nor for any unauthorised use of your Gift Card.
Can I set a specific time to send the Gift Card email to a recipient?
Gain full control of your purchased Gift Card by selecting the 'Email to You' delivery option at Checkout. You can then forward the Gift Card email to the lucky recipient whenever you want!

Custom Gift Cards: is that an option?
Yesss! Send customized Gift Cards for your occasion by contacting us here. Your customized Gift Card will be issued AFTER your Gift Card purchase. On your email to us, please specify your booking reference/order number, the Recipients’ Name, Your Name, your Message to the receiver and the occasion [Birthday, Anniversary, Thank You, Love or other]. We are fast but please allow us at least 24 hours to create your customized Gift Card. You will be presented with two alternative options to choose from and only one change is allowed.
