This is a fun mini-gateway from Athens combining sightseeing and adventure with exciting physical exercise, Greek nature and suburbs.

Activity Description

Parnassos mountain is beautiful and Delphi, located on the mountain's south side,  is one of the most important and famous ancient sites in the world. 
Your guide, a renowned Greek expert, will drive you from Athens (about 2.5 hours ride) and lead you to Mt Parnassos where your hiking journey of about 4 hours will begin through the mountain's ancient trails towards the archeological site of Delphi. Along the way, you will stop at a sheepfold to enjoy a picnic of fresh local produce.
Upon arrival to Delphi you will have the chance to explore the archeological site and visit the museum. 
In the evening, dinner will be served at your lodging, at the footsteps of Mt Parnassos, where you will stay overnight in a double room at a picturesque, cosy and comfortable mountain chalet.
On the next day, following breakfast, your 4 hour adventure in mount Parnassos will begin. First stop, a 12th century monastery built on a gorge by Crusaders returning from Jerusalem after the 2nd Crusade, called the Holy Jerusalem.
Situated in a small cave amid Greek nature and magnificent views, the monastery is worth the long uphill. While returning, the path goes deep into the gorge, crosses a suspension bridge and then leads to forests of fir trees in the slopes of the mountain.
Thereafter, your guide will drive you back to your lodging for lunch and relaxation, before the journey back to Athens.

Note:  Equipment required: Backpack, shoes suitable for trekking or sports, warm jacket, fleece jumper, long trousers, warm cap/hat, water, snacks, extra clothes in case of bad weather and rain. Itineraries may be subject to minor changes depending on weather conditions. 

Young Travellers: Suitable for children over 10 years old, in the mood to hike.
