Activity Description
A unique opportunity to visit the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum and the surrounding area introducing you to the best of classical Athens and classical Greece. During this 4-hour tour your guide will show you around the Acropolis archaeological area, introduce you to the history and secrets of the Parthenon, guide you around the world-class Acropolis museum and -last but not least- give you the opportunity to sample a range of exquisite Greek wines and produce.
In detail, this tour will start with a 1.5 hour private tour of the Acropolis rock with a field expert - licensed archaeologist in search of the secrets of the rock. You will learn about the background, historical details and stories around the rock and explore the natural landscape that encouraged worship on the site. After a short walk along Dionysiou Areopagitou Street towards Plaka, you will visit an authentic wine-store where the hosts will welcome you and take you to a journey through Greek wine and Greek winemaking, accompanies by local Greek produce. After about this 45' seated wine-break you will head for a different experience of the Acropolis monument at the Acropolis Museum for a 1 hour (approx) guided tour at the experience hands of your expert guide.
