The ancient theatre of Epidaurus represents the finest and best-preserved example of a classical Greek theatre. Even by today's standards, this monument stands out as a unique artistic achievement through its admirable integration into the landscape and above all the perfection of its proportions and incomparable acoustics. It was built in 330-20 BC and enlarged in the mid-2nd century AD. The overall 55 rows of seats rest on a natural slope and face the stage area set against a backdrop of lush landscape. The ancient theatre is marvelled for its exceptional acoustics. Any sound on the open-air stage, whether a stentorian voice or a whisper, a deep breath or the sound of a match struck is perfectly audible to all spectators, even in the topmost row of seats, that is, nearly 60 m away. The ancient theatre of Epidaurus, is the most beautiful theater in the world!! It is a Unesco World Heritage Site in Greece and you should definitely visit it.
Methana was in the territoty of Troezen. The peninsula is entirely of volcanic origin and contains over 30 volcanic eruption centers. The last volcanic eruption occurred near present-day Kameni Chora in 230 BC and a submarinne volcano erupted in 1700.
You will stop to the beautiful volcanic peninsula- land of Hephaestus for lunch and swim !
Detailed schedule:
08:30 AM: Pick up from your Hotel in Athens with a VIP Van
09:45 AM: Arrival to the starting point (host’s office) in Lavrio
10:00 AM: Transfer with a RIB to Epidaurus
12:00 PM: Arrival at Epidaurus theatre. A taxi driver will pick you up and transfer you to the ancient theater.
12:00 – 15:30: Free time to visit the theater
15:45 – 18:00: Transfer with the Rib to Methana island for lunch and swimming
18:15 – 19:30: Transfer with the RIB back to Lavrio port
19:30 – 20:45: Transfer back to your Hotel with the VIP Van

Cancellation Policy
Full refund up to 20 days prior activity date, minus credit card payment processing fees; 50% refund up to 7 days before the activity date minus credit card payment processing fees; thereafter no refund. Special condition for weather : if it is very windy (more than 7 Beaufort), the cruise will take place in the next suitable date. If trip cancelled by the host and/or due to unsuitable weather conditions and no alternative date works, full refund is provided including payment processing fees.
