Why we like it

Experience Greek hospitality and discover the use of herbal tea in the Greek culture in a warm Athenian home, like a local!

Activity Description

Greece has always been a tea-drinking country. In your list of unique things to do and try in Greece, herbal teas should make it to the top, because they are treated not as merely beverages but as pure remedies. Most of the Greek teas are made from wild plants that have health benefits and medicinal capacities.

In an Athenian home and in the warm hospitality by your local hostess, you’ll get to try traditional Greek mountain tea, a dittany tea and an infusion of Greek sage while listening to exciting tea trivia. The teas that you’ll get to try are known for their therapeutic capabilities.

To make this tea tasting even more authentic, you will enjoy with your tea delicious traditional moustokouloura; these are traditional Greek sweet cookies which are baked with grape must, flour, and sugar. Your tea will also be accompanied by delicious Greek sandwiches, with manouri cheese and olive paste and kasseri cheese with tomatoes.

Las but not least, dessert. You and your hostess will create a traditional baklava from scratch so that you can learn the recipe for yourself, and take some home with you... if there are any leftovers!
