This evening Athens experience will start from the heart of Athens, Syntagma Square. Your guide will walk you through the city's streets and alleys as night falls. The stops to follow are all hand-picked by a dedicated team of insiders; you will discover new spirits and delicacies and learn about the history and cultural movements in some of Athens’ oldest neighbourhoods.
Your journey will start with an introduction to Greece's winemaking and viticulture. You will be introduced to rich varieties of grape the Greek islands have to offer and pair them with some of the finest local cheeses from across the country. The nightlife adventure will continue with a round of Greek spirits; your guide will take you to the oldest distillery in Athens for traditional Greek 'raki' and sweet tones of 'rakomelo' (a mix of raki and honey!) while he explains the origins and cultural significance of these much-loved spirits. Next stop: beer! You will sample the world's first beer made by 5 different cereals, wheat, rye and corn included! What's next? Cocktails! You will unwind in one of the coolest bars in Athens with an innovative concoction that blends Mediterranean flavours and traditional spirits. You will watch the best barmen in Athens in action, while they create your drink of choice as you build an appetite, like a local, for your next stop- an authentic souvlaki 'street food' shop!
